Life is not Boring
- Life is amazing; change your view if you can’t see it. It might be a physical move or an adjustment to your daily habits. No matter what, you are in charge of your own happiness. Not your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, child, pet, or anyone else will “make” you happy. That is like watching someone else eat so you won’t be hungry. Get up and get your own damn dinner.
- Life can get tough, I mean really tough, to navigate. There is nothing wrong with taking a break to evaluate your GPS and negotiate with yourself for realistic goals. Adulting 101 is exhausting.
- Money is not a solution. Money is a means for four things: food, shelter, clothing, and access to the internet. More money doesn’t equate to happiness (See #1).
- Life sucks sometimes; life gets downright ugly. I have faced public shunning, loneliness, anxiety, rejection, cancer, diabetes, and even the loss of good people. All those terrible times in my life, I was forced to remind myself, “You’re hurting now; it won’t last, so be ready.” You know what? When the fog lifted … I was ready. So be ready!
- There are superheroes and supervillains in real life.I have witnessed the worst in human existence, and it pains me to no end to know that such hatred, ignorance, and anger exist.
HOWEVER
I will testify to the infinite human resilience and inexhaustible capacity to survive and flourish—not merely exist but survive and partake in life. I don’t have to look to social media to base my words. I do not look to Hollywood for inspired individuals. They have come into my life, humbling me. I am in awe.
So on this day, to which I have your attention, go out and drink (sparkling water or not). Toast your happiness, curse your villains, and bless your heroes.
